Sausage Sizzle Summer Seven Inch Top Ten

With summer refusing to properly kick in, we thought it'd be an idea to hook up with C-Biscuit (one of the selectors form the mighty Edinburgh soundsystem 'Big Toe's Hi-Fi') to have a rummage through his collection and put together a list of 10 seven inch bangers to help get the summer started in fine style. Yes I Clive!


1. Canada Cold - Peter Metro (Dynamite Records)

"Weather wise I thought that this would be an apt start to the Scottish summer selection. It was minus 30 when I once went to the other Banff in the world on a snowboarding holiday so I definitely agree with Mr. Metro. Don't Follow Rumours is the rhythm and the temperature may be below zero but this one gives out some serious heat on the dancefloor....ssssssss!!!"

"I also have a Hip-Hop version of this song but the sheer driving simplicity of this Lloyd Dennis Dancehall production  knocks it for six."

9. Good Buddy - Vybz Kartel (South Rakkas Crew)
















"Imagine a cross between Booker T and MGs "Soul Limbo" and an Orbital B-side and you have the Chinkuzi riddim. Vybz up to the time as always gives us his take on summer lovin'. It's just not cricket!"

10. Dancin Alone - Snow (Massive B)
















"Ending with another connection to Canada from the Super Notorious Outrageous Whiteboy himself. Snow croons about a certain special lady over the Tempo rhythm. Never thought we would have an "erection section" at Big Toe's Hi-Fi but this just may be the slow one to play at the end of the night.."
